Acerca de AU

The African Union (AU) is a continental organization of 55 African member states that promotes unity, integration, peace and security, and sustainable development in Africa, guided by the Agenda 2063 framework. It was launched in 2002 and succeeded the Organization of African Unity, which was founded in 1963. The African Union Commission, the Union’s executive and administrative body, is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Vacancies for the Commission and several other AU organs and agencies are published on jobs.au.int. Applicants must use the mandatory AU CV template. Posts are open to citizens of AU member states, and many are offered as fixed-term contracts. The AU also runs an internship programme for citizens of member states aged 32 or under and the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps.

Staff work on political affairs, peace and security, economic development and trade, agriculture, infrastructure and energy, education, science and technology, health and social development, and corporate functions such as finance, human resources and conference services. Most positions are at the Commission headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with others in AU organs and offices across Africa and abroad.
