Job Description

Job Summary:  

As the Inventory Assistant you will support activities related to warehouse maintenance and goods receipt, storage handling, monitoring, and dispatch in support of the delivery of high-quality programming to the poor and vulnerable. You will help ensure goods entrusted to the organization by donors are maintained by applying established standards and in compliance with CRS and donor regulations, and international and local supply chain accountability standards and requirements.  This position is based in Benue State

Roles and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist to maintain up-to-date entry register, inventory records and accountability and prepare necessary documents for receiving, issuing, returning, loss, disposal and control of all fixed and non-fixed assets using standard forms as per the policy and procedures and keep updated records of all lost, stolen, and damaged items and report them on monthly basis.  
  • Support the maintenance of warehousing/storage facilities, conducting regular inspection and cleaning of facilities.
  • Assist with the preparation of the warehouse/storage facilities for goods receipt and dispatch and assist with loading and offloading activities.
  • Help prepare necessary documents for goods receipt, dispatch, damage, loss, and disposal, and file records per established standards. 
  • Assist and coordinates activities and property movement and management of fixed assets for disposal, surplus, storage, or salvage,
  • Check and process requests from staff and handle them for assets available in store.
  • Prepare and maintain record of disposal assets for review and final decision.

Required Languages - Fluency in written and spoken English is required. 

Travel - Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Knowledge and understanding of warehouse and inventory practices.  
  • Able to use MS Office Excel and Word.  
  • Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics  
  • Good communication and relationship management skills  
  • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented and results-oriented  
  • Ability to manage manual workforce. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Key Working Relationships:  

Internal: Country Logistics Officer, Operations Manager, Program Managers, Program Officers

External :  INGO staff, government officials

Basic Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a University Degree or HND.  
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar position.
