Assistant Programme Manager with Emerging & Re-emerging Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division (Adv#79/2026)

icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute committed to addressing key public health challenges through high-quality research and innovation.

The Programme on Emerging & Re-emerging Infections under the Infectious Disease Division is working to establish a dynamic and strategic approach to support the MBDC unit of DGHS in country’s fight against TB. The solutions will be focused on defined priority areas – increased TB detection, decentralized DR-TB management, improving detection and management of child TB, expanded prevention, private sector engagement in TB, etc.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Programme Manager will report to the Project Coordinator. The major areas of responsibilities include:

• Plan, implement and oversee project activities at local level;
• Coordinate with local authorities, partners, and HQ teams for effective project implementation;
• Train, supervise, and support field teams to ensure quality implementation and data collection;
• Regular follow-up project activities and supervise the distribution of logistics/supplies;
• Monitor project progress, analyze data, coordinate with MEL/CMT teams, and submit progress reports;
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, secure resources, and implement corrective actions when needed.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Masters in any discipline;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in donor-funded projects; Experience in TB program implementation will be an added advantage.

Contract Type and duration:

• Short-Term; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & Benefits:

• Monthly Tk. 1,40,750/- (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
