Job Description
We are seeking an Training Program Specialist – Development for 2-year-regular position (renewable) to work within the Training & Capacity Strengthening Department at the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul, Korea. (Duty station: Seoul, Korea)

Job Description

This job is responsible for supporting and coordinating the design, development, and implementation of training and capacity-strengthening programs within the TCS team, including curriculum development, program delivery, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder communication, and pedagogical innovation, learner-centered approaches, and faculty development coordination of GTH-B and other training initiatives.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Training Needs Assessment and Capacity Strengthening

  • Conduct training needs and institutional capacity gap assessments related to vaccine development, biomanufacturing, clinical research, and regulatory science.
  • Contribute to the development of tools and frameworks for training and capacity assessments.

2. Training Program and Curriculum Development

  • Support the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs, curricula, training modules, instructional materials, practical exercises, and learning resources, including learner-centered and competency-based training approaches.
  • Assist in designing course curricula, training modules, and learning objectives, and coordinate the development of instructional materials, presentations, case studies, and practical exercises.
  • Prepare and maintain templates and tools for teaching and training documents required for delivering both didactic and hands-on training.

3. Pedagogical Innovation and Faculty Development

  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of pedagogical workshops for IVI faculty and trainers, promoting learner-centered teaching approaches and effective instructional strategies.
  • Assist in integrating modern pedagogical methods and educational technologies, including active learning, experiential learning, digital tools, and blended learning approaches in training programs.
  • Contribute to strengthening teaching effectiveness and innovation by supporting faculty in applying pedagogical approaches and educational technologies and facilitating continuous improvement of training practices.

4. Training Delivery & Program Coordination

  • Coordinate and support the implementation and management of in-person, virtual, and blended learning activities, including scheduling, logistics, participant engagement, and partner coordination.
  • Liaise and facilitate collaboration with academic institutions, technical partners, and subject matter experts.

5. Digital Learning & Online Training

  • Support the development, management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of online learning content, LMS platforms, virtual learning sessions, and interactive digital learning tools.

6. Monitoring, Evaluation & Quality Assurance

  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, participant feedback, quality review of training materials, and reporting of learning outcomes and program impact.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving quality standards and continuous learning processes across training programs.

7. Strategic Development & Knowledge Management

  • Contribute to strategic program development, donor-funded initiatives, technical writing, knowledge products, partnership development, and dissemination of training outcomes.
  • Provide additional support to IVI Training & Capacity Strengthening programs as required.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

1. Education Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in science, education, public health, administration, finance, accounting, or business related field

2. Related Field Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of experience or
  • Master’s degree & 3 years of experience in related field: education, administration, planning, public health or project management

3. Technical and Professional Skills / Knowledge

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Hancom Office
  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with senior external contacts
  • Strong organizational skills; able to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills; professional presence.
  • Program/Project management skills are plus (including MS Project skill)
