The Project Officer is expected to work under various but related projects that deal with improving migration management and migrant protection in select Silk Routes and Central Asian countries. The specific objectives of the projects are to enhance a gender-sensitive and rights-based comprehensive migration governance in Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan; support informed decision-making and resilience of migrants at the personal, family and community level in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan covering the full migration cycle and in respect of gender and human rights considerations; and support activities that deal with reintegration of returnees, community education and awareness raising, migration management, working with government/relevant counterparts and working closely with the Migrant Resource Centres in the regions.

In particular, the Project Officer will support activities that deal with migration governance, community education and awareness raising, in particular, working with government counterparts and working closely with the Migrant Resource Centre in the regions. S/he will work under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager based in Vienna, Austria. ​ ​
