What You'll DoThe Multimedia Expert will assist the Communications Manager and work with a Communications and Outreach Specialist to develop and execute external and internal communications and outreach. He or she will follow US Department of State’s branding and marking requirements and provide multimedia support for campaigns that help tell the story of the need for and impact of project activities and support from the American people. He or she will lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of innovative communication materials using multiple creative modalities e.g., motion graphics and/or animated presentations, using cutting-edge software as may be applicable. He or she will also help implement outreach activities to target audiences. He or she will help maximize the capabilities of multimedia platforms to best communicate and conduct project outreach. He or she will help to highlight project successes. He or she will support healthy working relationships with project team, key stakeholders, including host government counterparts in the energy, environment, other relevant sectors, other government bodies, private sector, other stakeholders, and the donor community. Essential Duties: • Collaborates with Communications Manager and Lead Multimedia Expert to create and conceptualize visual presentations that complement stories or written materials.• Provides creative and artistic ideas to better elevate the quality, originality and artistry of communication materials produced by the project.• Creates interactive presentations, videos, exhibit booths that utilize most recent trends in communication strategies.• Supports the use of video, motion graphics, infographics, physical exhibits, and other tools to develop visual content that informs and educates various audiences.• Support the Communications Unit in its initiatives. Disclosure: This role is contingent upon successful project award What You'll NeedMinimum Required Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience, Master's degree and 3 years of experience or PhD and 0 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in multimedia arts, visual communications, fine arts, international development, communications, journalism, or media studies Experience on US Government-funded projects, using communications as a tool to align project successes with foreign policy goals is preferred. Experience with flash presentations, infographics, exhibit booth production, and app development are preferred. Must present to RTI a portfolio of multimedia accomplishments and/or demo reel to demonstrate his/her qualifications Skills & AbilitiesStrong interpersonal/relationship-building skills Knowledge in implementing visual communications strategies using leading social media platforms Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel and mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud programs, other creative design platforms, and photography. Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure Ability to multitask Ability to work independently and within matrix project, program teams and difficult environment Attention to detail and accuracy Culturally sensitive and respectfulemonstrates commitment to RTI’s mission, vision, and values
