Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting young people through challenging times and helping them build brighter futures? This is your chance to step into a meaningful role with real community impact. The role sits within the NSW Government’s expanded youth and community services, established in response to the profound emotional, social, and economic impacts of the Bondi terrorist attack.

54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.

A place to make a difference:

In this full-time, maximum term role (till end of September 2026), you’ll work as a part of our Youth Resilience and Support Service team across Sydney* to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. *This position requires significant travel (up to 75%) throughout the Sydney metropolitan area and potentially to regional locations to reach young people in various communities and settings.

You will make a difference by:

  • Engaging young people through proactive outreach across Randwick, Waverley and Southwest Sydney
  • Working within existing community networks to identify those who may benefit from additional support
  • Providing case coordination, ensuring young people are connected to the right services at the right time
  • Delivering psycho‑education groups, empowering young people with tools to understand and manage their wellbeing
  • Building strong relationships with schools, youth services, community organisations and families

This is a hands‑on, community‑embedded role where every day brings new opportunities to make a difference.

A place to feel valued:

Your deep expertise in developing and implementing innovative programs that build resilience, provide support, and create positive outcomes for at-risk youth will be invaluable. You’re passionate about supporting young people through challenging times and helping them build brighter futures? This is your chance to step into a meaningful role with real community impact.

This role requires:

  • Trauma‑informed experience supporting young people from diverse backgrounds in community settings
