Result of Service
A documented, reproducible and quality‑assured set of harmonized household survey databases, processing scripts and statistical outputs that enable the calculation of selected education‑related SDG indicators derived from household surveys, accompanied by concise methodological documentation and tabulated analytical results for internal use.
Expected duration
20.04.26-19.07.26
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Social Statistics Officer, the consultant will support the processing, harmonization and analytical use of household survey microdata for the production of education-related SDG indicators, with particular emphasis on SDG 4 indicators derived from household surveys. • Compile, organize and document household survey databases, questionnaires, manuals and metadata required for the estimation of educational indicators. • Clean, recode and harmonize variables across survey files, including identifiers, weights, age, sex, schooling attainment, school attendance, participation informal and non-formal education and training, and other education-related variables. • Prepare reproducible processing scripts in statistical software (preferably R, Stata or Python) for data cleaning, consistency checks, indicator estimation and generation of outputs. • Apply survey design parameters and estimation procedures required to calculate indicators with appropriate use of weights, strata and primary sampling units, when available. • Produce structured databases and intermediate analytical files suitable for cross-country comparison and time-series analysis. • Support the preparation of methodological notes describing definitions, assumptions, treatment of missing values, harmonization decisions and limitations affecting comparability. • Contribute to the validation of results through internal consistency checks, comparison with published sources and documentation of discrepancies. • Prepare tables, graphs and concise technical summaries for internal analytical use and reporting. • Maintain orderly version control of scripts, input files, outputs and metadata, ensuring traceability and reproducibility of the work.
