A place to make a difference:

In this full-time, maximum term position (through to June 2027, with potential for extension) based in our Kununurra office, you’ll support a local team to accomplish ambitious goals for our children, youth and families. The Team Leader – Youth Services provides operational leadership and coordination across our Youth Justice programs, the Youth Hub, and Night Patrol services in Kununurra. The role ensures culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-led responses to vulnerable young people, particularly Aboriginal youth, with a strong focus on prevention, safety, and positive engagement. You’ll report to the Regional Manager.

You will make a difference by:

  • Leading and developing a dedicated, values driven team
  • Building relationships with partner community organisations, service providers and within the broader community
  • Represent Youth Services at community meetings, interagency forums, and case conferences
  • Support community-led solutions and incorporate cultural guidance into service delivery
  • Advocate for young people and families in a respectful, strengths-based manner

This role requires:

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to nurture a cohesive team
  • Ability to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate activities
  • Experience in case management and working with young people
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and complex scenarios
  • Current valid driver’s licence
  • Relevant degree qualifications in youth work, social work, social science, education, psychology (highly desirable)
