The Virology Laboratory of the Infectious Diseases Division conducts high-quality research and provides technical support to ongoing projects and training programs. The laboratory works on a broad range of human and animal viral infections. Beyond viral research, the laboratory also studies clinically significant non-viral microorganisms. The laboratory is actively engaged in antiviral drug discovery, diagnostic kit evaluation, and clinical trials of new therapeutics and vaccines. The Virology Laboratory initiated a pilot study “Investigating Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs) and Associated Factors Among Ever-Married Women and Girls of Forcefully Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN)” that seeks to address existing gaps by investigating the prevalence of common RTIs, identifying associated risk behaviours, and assessing the level of knowledge among the FDMN population.

The Project Research Physician will report to Research Investigator and will be responsible to Plan, organize and monitor activities of the pilot study, collaborate with relevant department of government and international partners, supervise and coordinate the research studies to provide effective and efficient project support to enable research activities within the extent of Centre's guidelines and organizational values and guidelines.
