Organizational Context and Scope

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the National Resource Management Officer and the overall supervision of the Head of Office, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting office IT activities in accordance with IOM regulations, instructions and guidelines. The duties of the incumbent are as follows:
Support the review of technical requirements during the procurement process related to IT services, purchase of IT equipment and participate in field visits for quality assurance under the guidance of supervisor
Act as IT Focal Point for the Mission; supporting Regional IT Focal point in maintaining and troubleshooting of IOM network in general (mostly hardware) and managing user accounts.
Assisting in setting up and maintaining mission IT equipment to support data integrity, security and availability; report equipment issues and liaise with the supervisor regarding repair or replacement.
Assisting with data backup, restore, data validation and security procedures to support data integrity and availability.
Assist in the procurement of ICT, communications, electrical and data security services and equipment for office needs, as well as for donations, in accordance with established procedures.
Support installation, setup and maintenance of new IT equipment for office needs under the supervision of regional senior IT staff.
Carry out all activities in accordance with ICT standards, policies, rules and guidelines, as defined by ICT Headquarters and ICT Manila.
Coordinate all network installations and modifications with IOM ICT Global User Support.
Assist in coordinating planned technology upgrades (IT software and hardware) and help manage regular updates of the endpoint tools such as antivirus, Zscaler and other software and the distribution of the updates to all the workstations.
Collaborate constructively with the project team in supporting the development and implementing of technology solutions as well as in carrying out all its administrative and technical aspects, in line with IOM’s policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements.
Support the project team in drafting and reviewing ICT‑related documents.
Assist with the technical evaluation of the tender documents with the RMU and participate in the technical clarification meetings with Service Providers/Vendors.
Perform other duties as may be assigned
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
High School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
Experience with Windows Server software in a multi-site environment, MS Office, Antivirus Software and IT utilities. Experience with HP/Compaq, IBM and Cisco equipment is an advantage.
Hands-on experience of Windows based server/client systems (installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and troubleshooting).
Experience in the preparations and review of Terms of References, Technical Specifications is an advantage.
Experience in working in an international environment and in liaising with a variety of partners at all levels of the hierarchy. Experience in working in IOM is an advantage.

Languages
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, Fluency in English and Macedonia (oral and written).
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
