For every child, the right to education.

UNICEF Dominican Republic works to ensure the rights of all children and adolescents. The office partners with government, civil society and communities to promote equitable access to education, health, protection and participation. UNICEF also highlights persistent challenges affecting children—such as violence, educational gaps, climate change and early unions—and uses evidence, advocacy and social mobilization to drive change. With a rights‑based and equity‑focused approach, UNICEF positions itself as a strategic ally for building a safer, more inclusive and fair country where every child can grow with dignity and real opportunities for development.

How can you make a difference?

As an Education Officer (NOA), you will play a key role in advancing UNICEF’s vision for quality, equitable, and inclusive education for every child in the Dominican Republic. Your work will help improve learning outcomes, reinforce national systems, and accelerate progress toward UNICEF’s commitments to equity and inclusion.

In this role, you will:

  • Support programme planning and design by researching and analyzing education trends, preparing technical inputs, contributing to results-based planning, and ensuring accuracy and quality in programme documentation.
  • Monitor programme implementation and results, collaborating closely with colleagues and partners to track progress, identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and ensure timely follow‑up on actions and recommendations.
  • Contribute to budget and resource management by monitoring fund utilization, verifying compliance with UNICEF guidelines, and preparing inputs for donor and programme reporting.
  • Provide technical and operational support to partners, including government counterparts, NGOs, and UN agencies, helping them interpret and apply UNICEF policies, strategies, and best practices for effective programme delivery.
  • Strengthen partnerships and communication, supporting the preparation of advocacy materials, participating in inter‑agency coordination spaces, and contributing to resource‑mobilization efforts.
  • Promote innovation and knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, supporting capacity‑building activities, and helping identify and apply innovative approaches that drive better results for children.
  • Participate in field monitoring, gathering firsthand insights, strengthening accountability, and ensuring programme activities respond to the needs of the most vulnerable children.

Through your analytical skills, collaborative approach, and commitment to equity, you will help advance impactful, data‑driven education solutions that make a lasting difference in the lives of children across the country.
