El programa VNU está activo en unos 130 países cada año. Con presencia sobre el terreno en más de 80 países, el programa VNU está representado en todo el mundo. El programa VNU está administrado por el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD)

Context

As part of efforts to strengthen the Talent Acquisition strategies of the UNV Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, additional support is required to expand and diversify talent sourcing channels across the region, particularly for positions related to emergency response and disaster recovery in the Caribbean. Positions associated with hurricane recovery operations and emergency response—especially in technical areas such as Health, WASH, Logistics, Shelter, and Protection—are often challenging to fill due to the high level of specialization and professional experience required. In this context, the Talent Acquisition team aims to enhance its capacity to identify and engage regional ecosystems where qualified humanitarian talent is concentrated. To support this effort, two individuals will assist in the identification and mapping of talent ecosystems across the Caribbean, including non-governmental organizations, humanitarian networks, disaster risk management agencies, public institutions, universities, professional associations, and digital communities (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram) connected to emergency response and post-hurricane recovery.

Task Description

The purpose of this assignment is to support the Talent Acquisition team of the UNV Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in identifying, analyzing, and activating regional talent ecosystems linked to emergency response and hurricane recovery in the Caribbean. The selected individuals will conduct a structured mapping of relevant actors and professional networks, including non-governmental organizations, humanitarian networks, disaster risk management agencies, public institutions, universities, professional associations, and digital communities. In addition to the mapping exercise, they will support targeted outreach and strategic dissemination of professional opportunities within these ecosystems, with the aim of increasing the visibility of vacancies and expanding the number of qualified applications for emergency-related assignments. The work will focus particularly on identifying environments where mid- to senior-level talent (Specialist and Expert profiles with 3+ and 7+ years of experience) is concentrated in key sectors such as Health, WASH, Logistics, Shelter, and Protection.
