Job title: Local Consultant for Developing Business Plan for the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA)
Project: PHOEBUS: Promoting Human rights, Orchestrating Equitable access to justice, Building Unity and Support for refugees and host communities
Job category: National (this job is open only to Armenian nationals)
Contract type: Individual Contract (IC)
Duration: 1 April 2026 – 15 June 2026 (estimated 25 workdays)
Duration: Duty station: Yerevan, Armenia (home-based with occasional office visits)
Objective of the assignment: Through the “PHOEBUS: Promoting Human rights, Orchestrating Equitable access to justice, Building Unity and Support for refugees and host communities” Funding Window Project, UNDP introduces a targeted focus on the legal empowerment and protection of refugees. It seeks to expand inclusive legal services and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms that are tailored to the specific needs and vulnerabilities of crisis-affected populations. Aligned with recent sector analyses and guided by strategic input from stakeholders, UNDP aims to enhance human rights in Armenia through expert advice, capacity building, policy development and public awareness.
To this end, UNDP plans a series of interventions to support the institutionalisation of recently established mediation mechanisms. This involves strengthening the capacities of mediators, raising public awareness on mediation as an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanism in refugee-hosting communities and other relevant activities.
The Consultant will be responsible for preparing a comprehensive, data-driven and implementable Business Plan for AMCA that will: (i) define AMCA’s strategic vision and positioning for targeting new cases (international and complex cases with high value of claim), (ii) strengthen institutional sustainability and financial viability, (iii) serve as a reference document for partners, donors and stakeholders.
