    Introduction

    Description of the Assignment:

Human Development Report (NHDR) represents the third national report produced through the longstanding partnership between UNDP Bahrain and the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat). The NHDR aims to generate evidence-based analysis on priority human development issues in Bahrain, aligned with UNDP’s Human Development Approach and national development priorities.

Derasat has initiated work on the background papers, which will provide foundational analysis for the NHDR. UNDP seeks a Lead Author and NHDR Technical Advisor to guide the conceptual framing, refine and harmonize the background papers, develop the NHDR outline, and produce a coherent, publication-ready report.

The advisor will ensure that the NHDR adheres to UNDP’s global methodological standards, presents a unified analytical story, and brings together contributions from national experts, UNDP, and Derasat.

    Period of assignment/services: 92 working days over 7 months (March 2026 – September 2026)

This tender is for individual consultants.

Any request for clarification must be sent in writing via messaging functionality in the portal. UNDP will respond in writing including an explanation of the query without identifying the source of inquiry.
