Mission and objectives
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Our goal is to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. With over 194 member states, FAO works in over 130 countries worldwide. We believe that everyone can play a part in ending hunger. Join us in creating a #ZeroHunger world. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Jordan works to support the Government of Jordan in achieving sustainable agricultural development, enhancing food security and nutrition, and promoting the sustainable management of natural resources. FAO Jordan aligns its efforts with national priorities and regional strategies, focusing on building resilience to climate change, strengthening agricultural livelihoods, advancing inclusive rural development, and improving water and land use efficiency. Through strategic partnerships, technical assistance, and evidence-based policymaking, FAO Jordan aims to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to zero hunger, poverty reduction, and sustainable ecosystems.Context
