Job Description

There’s something special about spending your days alongside like-minded people, just as committed to purposeful work as you. At Save the Children Australia, we attract bright and big-hearted people who are inspired to make a difference. Together, we are fearless in our pursuit of making lasting change for the children and communities who need it most.

A place to make a difference:

In this full-time, maximum term (9 months) role, you’ll work as a part of our P&C team in our Melbourne head office to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.

We’re embarking on a major People Technology transformation over the next nine months and are seeking a short‑term P&C Administration Officer to provide high‑quality support across the People Operations team. As the first point of contact for general P&C enquiries, you’ll assist managers and employees with onboarding, job changes, offboarding, and other core processes, using your strong organisational skills and attention to detail to manage competing priorities and maintain excellent service throughout this period of change. You’ll also play an active role in fostering a positive team culture and championing great employee experiences across the organisation.

You will make a difference by:

  • Responding to daily P&C enquiries submitted through the Service Hub, ensuring timely and helpful support.
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks for the P&C team, including guidance on standard processes, invoice management, and handling data requests or reconciliations.
  • Overseeing the endtoend parental leave process, from initial employee enquiry through to payroll updates and returntowork arrangements.
  • Managing job change requests and award step increases across the Service Hub, Oracle, and supporting Excel workflows.
  • Providing onboarding and offboarding support during peak periods or when team members are on leave.

A place to feel valued:

Your deep expertise in handling fast paced, high volume administrative tasks (with a P&C focus) will be invaluable.

This role requires:

  • Strong customer service focus with experience supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Experience using ticketing tools (e.g., Freshservice) and maintaining P&C systems, ideally Oracle.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Able to work under pressure with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

A place to belong:

We are diverse personalities, backgrounds and talents, embracing our differences as one strong and united team. We see and celebrate the unique value you bring to our organisation, and offer a range of rewards for your effort, including:

  • Opportunity to work on additional projects to enable you to stretch and feel connected to programs in a different way
  • Individual learning plans to help map and deliver on your career development.
  • Internal employment and development opportunities
  • Support for workplace wellness, including access to our free, confidential Employee Wellbeing Program
  • Celebrate and feel supported in your diversity. We have a highly inclusive culture and diverse workforce reflecting the communities we serve, allowing you to bring your whole self to work (if that’s what you want!).
  • Full salary packaging benefits (please use this link to see how much this benefit could mean to you!)
  • Extra leave to use in a range of ways to ensure you’re able to perform at your optimum
