Are you passionate about working with refugees, IDPs and displacement-affected communities? Do you want to drive innovative approaches to address displacement crises? Join DRC and make a difference.

Who are we

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international humanitarian organization operating in 40 countries, dedicated to assisting and protecting refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and other conflict-affected communities. Committed to addressing the challenges of protracted displacement, DRC delivers both interim and durable solutions. The Global Solutions Coordinator will play a key role in enhancing the capacity of DRC’s country offices to design and implement effective solutions programming. This position is vital to ensuring that solutions remain a core component of DRC’s strategic approach and operational responses.

About the job

DRC is seeking a Global Solutions Coordinator to strengthen how we design and deliver durable solutions across our global operations. We are looking for someone with strong displacement expertise who works confidently in early recovery and development contexts. You will help develop and roll out practical guidance, tools, and training that build staff capacity and help country teams implement high‑quality, evidence‑based approaches aligned with DRC’s strategic direction. We are seeking someone who can support the design and development of strong projects, articulate clear theories of change, and who values evidence and continuous learning as essential drivers of better programming. If you are passionate about advancing sustainable pathways for displaced communities, we would be excited to have you join us to help shape the next generation of DRC’s solutions work.

Your key responsibilities include:

1. Technical Support and Capacity Development

  • Lead capacity-building initiatives, including training and mentoring for field staff.
  • Guide country teams on context analysis (using DRC’s Country Analysis Framework) and identification of interim and durable solutions pathways.
  • Support to country offices in applying DRC’s Durable Solutions Analysis Tool, Solutions from the Start Guidance and Returns Guidance.
  • Provide technical assistance in designing, implementing, and monitoring evidence-based programming aligned with DRC’s global theory of change, specifically supporting the development of evidence-based programming that addresses the unique challenges of protracted displacement in diverse contexts.
  • Facilitate the integration of interim and durable solutions into broader programming, ensuring alignment with DRC’s Response Framework and Strategy 2030.
  • Support the application of key global frameworks, including the IASC Framework on Durable Solutions for Internally Displaced Persons.
  • Support cross-country learning.

2. Strategic Guidance and Advocacy

  • Ensure compliance with DRC’s policies and guidance on interim and durable solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of new solutions-related policy, guidance, strategies and approaches, with a focus on innovation and piloting.
  • Support country offices in developing advocacy strategies for interim and durable solutions.
  • Assist the Global Lead on Solutions in the development of materials for use in external representation and donor engagement.

3. Learning and Knowledge Management

  • Lead global training initiatives on durable solutions.
  • Document and share best practices and lessons learned across country offices.
  • Contribute to global reporting on solutions programming.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be an expert in displacement and solutions programming. All employees should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Advanced degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Refugee Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in displacement and solutions programming.
  • Strong knowledge of global frameworks such as the IASC Framework on Durable Solutions.
  • Proven experience in capacity building, technical advisory roles, and program development.
  • Expertise in solutions-focused strategies in complex and protracted displacement settings.
  • Demonstrated experience working with duty-bearers and social protection
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
