Job Description
Org. Setting and Reporting
The temporary position is located within the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). Pursuant to Security Council resolution 2793 (2025), UNSOH has been mandated to provide support; primarily to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), the Haitian National Police (HNP), and the Haitian Armed Forces in the context of any joint operations with the GSF. Additionally, UNSOH is tasked with delivering technical assistance to the Organization of American States (OAS). This temporary position is located in the Security Information and Operations Center (SIOC) within the Safety and Security Section. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the Chief, SIOC and under the supervision of the Chief Security Advisor.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Security Coordination Officer (SIOC) Analyst, FS-6, will be responsible for the following duties: • Collect, input, verify, and update daily security and contextual incident data from multiple internal and external sources. • Maintain and operate SIOC databases, ensuring accuracy, integrity, version control, and secure access. • Apply established metadata standards, naming conventions, and data governance procedures. • Monitor incident trends, hotspots, correlations, and emerging risks affecting UN personnel and operations. • Prepare analytical inputs, factsheets, and briefing notes for CSA, SMT, ASMT, and UNCT. • Draft, update, and disseminate Daily Security Reports (DSR), Weekly Security Reports (WSR), incident summaries, flash updates, hotspot tables, and thematic notes. • Convert incident data into clear operational narratives, charts, and visual products for management and field users. • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with UNDSS reporting standards. • Produce and update GIS maps, layers, and geospatial products (ArcGIS Pro/QGIS) to support convoy movements, field missions, access planning, and Security Risk Management (SRM). • Maintain and update geodatabases of incidents, UN locations, movement routes, access constraints, and OCG group dynamics. • Prepare standard and ad-hoc operational maps for SIOC briefings and field deployments. • Update and maintain SICU Power BI dashboards on incident trends, geographic patterns, mobility constraints, and operational impacts. • Populate and validate data feeds from multiple sources to ensure dashboards remain accurate and current. • Provide real-time mapping, data extraction, and trend analysis to support security advisories, evacuation planning, convoy movements, and access negotiations. • Support CSA briefings, HQ reporting, SMT presentations, and operational decision-making through reliable data and visual products. • Ensure gender-sensitive and contextual information is reflected in all security products. Support the Humanitarian Access Working Group through data provision, mapping, and trend analysis. • Produce operational access maps, incident tracking tools, and security snapshots to inform humanitarian operations. • Provide regular security trend updates to support evidence-based humanitarian prioritization and planning. • Perform other duties as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job - Specific Qualification
Formal training in investigative skills, security coordination and operational planning and/or proven initiatives in a field of study that is directly related to security, safety and management, is required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible security management experience, either within the international organization, or a nationally recognized civilian or military entity is required. The minimum year of relevant experience is reduced to 5 years for candidates who possess a first level University Degree. At least three years of international experience in a multilateral organization in the field of security, including working in a conflict and post-conflict area of operation is required. A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in security operations, information analysis, data management, GIS, or a related operational field is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with the United Nations in SIOC, Joint Operations Centres, or Security Operations Centres (SOC) is required.

Special Notice
This temporary job opening is being advertised for advance planning purposes pending formal approval of the relevant funding and staffing structures.
