Duties and Responsibilities
In Indonesia, the United Nations (UN) has a long-standing partnership with the government, private sector, civil society, and youth to advance progress toward advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the core of the UN in Indonesia's work is the United Nations Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2060 – 2030, the key strategic document guiding collaboration between the UN, the host government, and other partners. The Cooperation Framework outlines shared priorities and responsibilities, ensuring that the UN’s support complements national development plans and global goals. The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO), under the leadership of the Resident Coordinator, serves as the coordination hub for UN agencies, funds, and programmes. The RCO’s core functions include strategic planning, partnerships and development finance, data and results management, and communications and advocacy. Within this framework, normative priorities—including Disability Inclusion (UNDIS), Gender Equality, Youth engagement, and SDG advocacy and champions—are central to ensuring that UN partnerships are inclusive, principled, and impact-driven. The Partnership Support Intern will work closely with the Partnership Officer to assist in events preparation, organization, research, documentation, communication, and coordination activities that support the RCO’s partnership-building efforts in Indonesia. The intern will specifically contribute to the implementation of the RCO’s normative and partnership priorities, including the Disability Inclusion Workplan, gender equality, youth engagement, and SDG advocacy and champions initiatives. The intern will also support coordination related to the Indonesia UN Consultative Forum, the Bappenas–UN Forum, and partnership-related work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other key stakeholders. The intern will contribute to the following areas: Partnership & Normative Support • Support implementation of the RCO’s normative workplan, particularly on the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy (UNDIS), gender equality, youth engagement, and SDG advocacy / SDG champions initiatives. • Facilitate inter-agency coordination and stakeholder engagement activities related to partnerships and normative priorities. • Assist in coordinating inter-agency engagement related to normative priorities, including preparation of background notes, talking points, and meeting documentation. • Support the conceptualization and drafting of partnership-related documents, including Terms of Reference, concept notes, briefing notes, and internal coordination materials. • Assist in tracking commitments, actions, and follow-up related to normative partnerships and consultations. Communications, Design & Digital Content • Conceptualize and design presentations, infographics, visual briefs, and other communication products related to partnerships and normative themes. • Support development and maintenance of web-based content (e.g. microsites, landing pages, or simple websites) related to RCO initiatives, using appropriate platforms and tools. • Support production of accessible and inclusive communication materials, in line with UN disability inclusion and gender-responsive communication standards. Research, Data & Knowledge Management • Conduct background research on normative issues linked to partnerships, including disability inclusion, gender equality, youth engagement, and SDG advocacy. • Support maintenance of partnership databases, stakeholder mappings, and contact lists. • Assist with data collection, synthesis, and presentation to support reporting, advocacy, and coordination needs. Events & Coordination Support • Support planning, coordination, and documentation of partnership meetings, workshops, consultations, and events. • Attend meetings (in-person or online) and prepare minutes, summaries, and action trackers. • Support logistical coordination as needed to ensure smooth delivery of events and consultations.
