Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the intern will contribute to the following workstreams: A. Donor intelligence, landscape analysis, and pipeline development • Support targeted donor and partner research (bilateral, multilateral, foundations, corporate/philanthropy, vertical funds). • Support donor mapping (donor priorities, eligibility criteria, thematic windows, geographic focus,) and upcoming calls. • Maintain and update a corporate funding pipeline. • Produce concise donor briefs and opportunity notes tailored to UNTB priority areas. B. Donor engagement support for resource mobilization • Support preparation for donor outreach and engagement, including drafting outreach emails, pitch messages, and follow-up communications aligned with RM objectives. • Prepare meeting briefs, background notes, and tailored talking points for donor engagements, including alignment between donor priorities and organizational programmes. • Support analysis of financing modalities (grants, blended finance partnerships, challenge funds, innovation funds, corporate social investment, etc.) relevant to UNTB’s work. • Help articulate UNTB “investment cases” by linking programme outcomes to donor value propositions, results frameworks, and co-financing options. C. Proposal and concept note development • Support drafting and editing of concept notes, proposals, and pitch decks (as assigned). • Help ensure consistency with UNTB strategic priorities, messaging, and partner requirements. D. Partnership engagement and coordination support • Prepare meeting briefs, talking points, and follow-up notes for partner interactions. • Support coordination of internal inputs across technical teams for partnership and fundraising packages. • Assist with maintaining partner contact lists and documenting engagement history.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study in international development, economics, public policy, finance, international relations, or related fields is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Demonstrated interest in development finance, resource mobilization, partnerships, and/or STI for sustainable development is required. Strong research and analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex information into clear briefs are required. Excellent drafting and editing skills in English is required. Strong computer literacy in standard software applications is required. Ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the French or another United Nations official language is desirable.

Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
