BACKGROUND:

IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) is a Membership Union of Government and civil society organisations. The Union work to advance sustainable development and create a just world that values and conserves nature. The IUCN Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) works across 24 countries to support its Members and partners in achieving effective conservation outcomes. To strengthen Membership engagement and visibility, IUCN ESARO seeks a Communications Intern to support communication, outreach and engagement activities related to the ESARO Membership
JOB DESCRIPTION
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Support the development and dissemination of Membership Quarterly newsletters and success stories;

Member Spotlights for new Members and Member Initiatives.
Support with social media posts and website content highlighting Member initiatives.
Support development of ESARO Members profiles both at regional and country levels.
Assist in communication around regional Membership events and Webinars.
Production of short videos, photo stories and blogs highlighting Member Impact.
Collect stories and updates from Members for communication channels.
Liaise with the IUCN Communications team to ensure alignment with IUCN brand and messaging.
Prepare the quarterly Membership Communications activity report.
Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
• POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education;
Bachelor’s degree in communications,
Experience with social media management and content creation

Work Experience;
Should have completed university within the last 2 years

Language Proficiency;
English
