Job Description

We are currently recruiting a HR Lead / Manager to join our Sudan team.

This is a field-based position with frequent travel to various locations across Sudan.

The role is a 6-month fixed-term international position, starting March 1, 2026.

About the Opportunity

You will oversee HR planning, recruitment, and deployment for staff across Sudan, ensuring documentation, contracts, and systems meet donor and audit standards. You will support surge capacity, maintain duty of care and compliance with national labor law, and work closely with country and field HR teams to align staffing with operational needs throughout the sixmonth response.

Your Responsibilities

This role includes the following responsibilities.

        • Manage HR planning, recruitment, and deployment for staff across multiple states.
        • Ensure HR documentation, contracts, and systems are donor compliant and audit ready.
        • Support surge capacity and workforce continuity during the 6-month response period.
        • Oversee HR risk mitigation, duty of care, and compliance with national labor law.
        • Coordinate with country level HR teams and field level management to align staffing with operational needs.

        About You

        You will bring the following experience and skills.

            • Experience managing HR functions in humanitarian or donor funded programs, including recruitment, onboarding, and deployment.
            • Strong understanding of HR compliance requirements, documentation standards, and audit expectations.
            • Strong spoken and written English and French are essential.
            • Proven ability to coordinate multistate staffing needs and support rapid surge capacity in emergency contexts.
            • Knowledge of national labor law, duty of care principles, and HR risk mitigation practices.
            • Excellent collaboration skills for working with country level HR teams and field level managers to align staffing with operational priorities.
            • High level of organization, accuracy, and discretion in handling sensitive HR information.
            • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities during fast paced response periods.
