Guarantees and Syndications Unit - Blended Finance and Funds Team (OPSD-GSU)

1. Internship Topic

Supporting blended concessional finance and parallel fund transaction processing, and partner reporting.

2. Summary of Job Description

The Blended Finance and Funds Team in ADB's Private Sector Operations Department is seeking a motivated Intern to support the origination, processing, and portfolio management of blended concessional finance and parallel investment operations. Working closely with Fund Managers and Blended Finance Officers, the Intern will provide analytical, coordination, and reporting support across different stages of the project cycle. This will include assistance with transaction preparation and internal processing, as well as contributing to reporting obligations to fund partners and other stakeholders. The internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to blended finance structures, concessional capital deployment, and partnership-based investment platforms in a multilateral development bank context.

The Intern will

  • Assist with transaction processing activities, including background financial and sector research, data compilation, and analytical support
  • Support preparation of internal documentation for blended concessional finance and parallel investment transactions (e.g. concept materials, processing notes, presentations, and briefing materials)
  • Contribute to portfolio monitoring and partner reporting requirements for blended finance facilities and parallel funds, including data verification and drafting of written materials
  • Support coordination with internal teams and external partners, as required, including follow-up on information requests
  • Perform other ad‑hoc analytical and administrative tasks related to blended finance and funds operations

Duration: 11 weeks

Timing: June 2026 onwards

ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines

5. Expected Outcomes

  • Contribute to the processing of at least one blended concessional finance or parallel investment transaction
  • Support the preparation of reporting materials or data inputs for blended concessional finance mechanisms and parallel funds
  • Develop a practical understanding of blended finance structures, transaction workflows, and fund management in a development finance context
  • Gain exposure to ADB's internal processing, coordination, and reporting requirements

Qualifications

6. Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in a master's degree or PhD program in finance, banking, accounting, economics, international relations, public policy, climate studies, or a closely related discipline

7. Relevant Experience and Other Requirements

  • Preferably have 2-3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, team‑based environment
