About Position

The Business Application Support Intern will support the day-to-day operation of the organization’s business applications. The role focuses on assisting with application support tasks, including user support, issue tracking, and basic system administration activities.

The intern will also assist with report development and the preparation and maintenance of system documentation. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise systems, business processes, and application support within a professional environment.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level application support for business applications under supervision.
  • Assist in responding to user inquiries and troubleshooting basic system issues.
  • Log, track, and follow up on support tickets and incidents.
  • Perform basic data checks and validations to support issue resolution.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard and ad-hoc reports.
  • Support documentation activities, including user guides, process flows, and technical notes.
  • Assist in testing system changes, patches, or enhancements.
  • Work closely with developers, support staff, and business users.

Requirements

This opportunity will be suitable for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates pursuing relevant coursework or certifications may also be considered.
  • Basic understanding of information systems or business applications.
  • Familiarity with databases and basic SQL queries.
  • Ability to analyze issues and follow structured troubleshooting steps.
  • Good documentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eager to learn, open to feedback, and able to work under supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic understanding of business processes (finance, HR, procurement, etc. – at a high level).

Location and Duration

The successful interns will be based at WorldFish Headquarters in Penang, Malaysia. The internship is scheduled to commence in March 2026 and will run for a duration of up to 5½ months. This opportunity is open exclusively to Malaysian applicants only. Interviews are expected to take place in March 2026, and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and invited to attend the interview.
