What we are looking for
Experience within education in a humanitarian/recovery context with technical expertise in development and implementation of strategies and policy guidance as well as development of tools.
First-Line Education expertise with start-up, scale-up or medium to large scale emergencies and experience from working in complex and volatile international contexts.
Fluency in English and French or Spanish, both written and verbal.
What you will do
The purpose of the Global Roving Emergency Education Specialist position is technical development of Education, strategic direction and quality assurance. The position is responsible for developing Education strategy and quality control at country level. This includes mentoring, training and capacity building staff to build their technical expertise in Education programming.
The main purpose of the Global Roving Emergency Education Specialist position is, but not limited, to:
Support country office start-up.
Support first phase education response in existing country offices.
Gap filling if a critical gap exists.
Providing in-country support with the design, reaching results and capacity development components of education programming.
The Global Roving Emergency Education Specialist will undertake short-term deployments, up to 6 months, to different NRC country operations. All deployments will be to crisis and conflict contexts. The postholder may also fill the role as Education Programme Development Manager (Education PDM) at country office level.

Minimum 4 years of experience within education in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Education technical expertise with experience in development and implementation of policy/strategic guidance, and practical tools and resources.
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts (international) with First-Line Education Response expertise.
Experience with start-up, scale-up or medium to large scale emergencies.
Fluency in English and French or Spanish, both written and verbal.
Adaptability, resilience with great interpersonal skills.

What we offer
Duty station: Global Roving.
Fixed term contract: 24 months.
Travel: Up to 75%.
Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC's grading structure.
