The Position:
The International Programme Coordinator’s (hereinto referred as Programme Coordinator) post is located in Aden. Under the overall direction of the UNFPA Representative for Yemen and direct supervision of Deputy Representative the incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and oversight of the substantive and technical content of the programme, as well as finance, personnel and office administration matters

Job Purpose
The Programme Coordinator provides leadership and oversight across programme operations, management and technical leadership, and partnerships and coordination to ensure the effective delivery of UNFPA’s humanitarian, recovery, and development programmes.
The role is responsible for leading programme implementation and performance management; advancing UNFPA’s policy and advocacy agenda; and building strong partnerships with government counterparts, UN agencies, development partners, civil society, and local communities to maximize impact and results in line with UNFPA priorities and standards.
Major Activities/Expected Results
Partnerships and Programme Coordination
Contributes to the resource mobilization strategy by analyzing information on potential donors, and preparing substantive briefs and project proposals in line with donor priorities.
Management and National Capacity Development
Oversee and manage the humanitarian, recovery, and development components of UNFPA programme operations. In the context of the UNFPA supported Country Programme, recommends areas of population assistance on the basis of continuous review and analysis of demographic and socio-economic data and national population policies.
Resource Management
Carry out any other duties as requested by Representative and Deputy Representative
Job Requirements
Education:
Advanced degree in social work or other social sciences, public health, community health, international relations, international law, human rights or related field;
Knowledge and Experience:

Languages: Proficiency in English. Working level knowledge of Arabic is required.
