Result of Service
The Consultant will be responsible for supporting the Senior Renewable Energy Engineer at the Department of Infrastructure and Camp Improvement (ICID) in HQ Amman to form design duties (calculation, modeling, drafting, quantities take-off and BOQ/specification development) according to UNRWA’s policy and procedures.
Expected duration
Expected duration: 6 months Monthly salary: JOD 913.77 including the 8.33%
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in preparing tender documents (electrical works part) through systematic procedure compatible with other works. • Assist in preparing technical specifications for materials specified during design works. • Commits to hand-over time of design works according to drawn plan by direct supervisor. • Archives all done works versus time. • Prepares itemized BOQ and cost estimate for works designed by staff. • Performs market research for materials to be used during design and still updated with international markets. • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/special skills
• A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. • A minimum of three years’ experience in Solar system Electrical design (building works mainly). • Strong ability in use of computers in design and drafting development (mainly AutoCAD software) • Strong ability in use of computers in modeling & design for solar system (e.g., Pvsyst software) • Background in Electrical works design and drafting for building project (i.e. schools, health centers, housing project) and basic infrastructure (i.e. street lighting, small pumps, wells operated by solar system). • Has wide experience and expertise level to perform PV system design works with all necessary: site data verifications, modeling & calculations and full awareness about system operation and maintenance procedures with remote monitoring and intervention.

Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE • Ability to use Outlook, Excel and Word application. • Possess of a valid driving license.
