Job Description
Result of Service
The individual contractor will support the Project Manager in coordinating project activities, preparing evidence-based analytical outputs on school-zone crash risks in Viet Nam, and research and analytical outputs on investment solutions in India, as well as to assist in consolidating analyses of cost-effective interventions, and supporting the organization of capacity-building workshops and meetings for the 2 projects. Key outputs include the followings: - Comprehensive Safe School Zone policy package and research and analysis on Building Lasting Investment solutions to make India’s roads safer that (i) delivers an evidence-based draft report informed by a systematic review of national/provincial legislation, current practices and international deliverables, and (ii) provides an integrated monitoring toolkit with updated progress matrices, periodic status briefs and data visualizations for ESCAP and donor reporting, - Responsive implementation support, including additional analytical inputs and coordination tasks as assigned by the Project Manager, to ensure timely delivery and continued alignment with project objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
ESCAP aims to strengthen institutional capacity, foster regional knowledge exchange, and deliver safer daily journeys and other vulnerable road users, thereby advancing the road-safety targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In this connection, STS plans to recruit a project assistant to support the project manager in implementing the two projects “Safe School Zones in Viet Nam” and “Building lasting investment solutions to make India’s roads safer – Harmonizing Funding, Action Plans, and Capacity Building".
Qualifications/special skills
Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree in any fields. Experience required: (i) Prior experience on transport research and analysis, (ii) Familiarity with the Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals and indicators. Desirable: (i) Experience with international organization. (ii) Transport planning and research for project implementation. Transport research and data analysis for project implementation.
Languages
Very good proficiency in English.
