We are looking for a team of dedicated professionals for the Mt Isa After Hours (MIAH) program three full-time (38 hours per week) positions are available. The program is part of our Domestic Family Violence Specialist Support Service in Mount Isa. In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll work as a part of our DFV MIAH team in Mount Isa to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. Based in Mount Isa, you’ll work closely with the Queensland Police Service to provide after-hours responses – this position operates on a roster from 2pm–10pm, seven days a week, with potential on-call requirements.

You will make a difference by:

  • Providing holistic case management, delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients and supporting relationships for favourable client outcomes
  • Deliver support through outreach case management for individuals experiencing domestic, family, or sexual violence.
  • Ensuring the voices of children and young people are heard
  • Identifying strengths, establishing goals for the program and reviewing client progress towards these goals
  • Promoting skills which increase health, safety and development

Your expertise in Domestic and Family Violence support will make a real impact. You bring strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and a compassionate, client-centred approach. As an experienced practitioner, you work within a child-centred, strengths-based framework and understand the effects of trauma on children and families, including the additional barriers experienced by Indigenous families. We recognise your contribution and ensure you have the support, space, and opportunity to grow.

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated experience in case management and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families
  • Strong report writing, analytical and evaluation skills, including data collation and analysis
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or significant experience working in a similar service
