The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation comprised of 38 member countries, that works to build better policies for better lives. Our mission is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. Together with governments, policy makers and citizens, we work on establishing evidence-based international standards, and finding solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion, we provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.
The OECD Centre on Well-Being, Inclusion, Sustainability and Equal opportunities (WISE) is an agile and innovative team that aims to strengthen the OECD's capacity to help countries implement a cross-cutting approach to contemporary policy challenges. WISE's mission includes developing new tools, evidence and policy solutions that are centred on people and focus on promoting greater opportunities and well-being as key pillars for shared economic prosperity, social inclusion and environmental sustainability. WISE works across disciplines and policy areas to design comprehensive responses that can match the complexity of the challenges faced by governments and ensure that people and their well-being remain at the heart of policy agendas. WISE works on topics ranging from inequalities of opportunity and poor social mobility, to loneliness, and promoting good well-being and mental health. Our work is grounded in the contexts of today’s policy priorities and global challenges, such as ageing, digitalization and new environmental challenges.
