Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the HR Coordinator is to implement the delegated area of responsibilities.
Generic responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring quality support to project implementation.
Specific responsibilities
Oversee and manage the recruitment process, supporting hiring managers to ensure compliance with minimum standards and national laws, in proportion to the needs arising from the emergency response.
Coordinate with the area office and country office HR teams to manage and administer responsibilities related to compensation and benefits, including contract management, payroll administration, and benefits allocation (such as insurance, overtime, leave, etc.) for national and international staff.
Follow up on the onboarding process for newly hired international staff and ensure they are enrolled in inductions, providing them with tools, information, security awareness, and contextual challenges, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and functions.
Provide support to staff and line managers regarding employee relations management, including organizational resilience, working environment, disciplinary measures, grievance management, and work-related incidents.
Promote well-being and a healthy work-life balance alongside all available support programmes, ensuring consistent follow-up and reporting on their effectiveness.
Collaborate with the country office HR team on duty of care and mental health support for the area office team, as well as coordinate with the MENA regional office HR on solutions and methodologies.
Ensure that HR emergency response plans and procedures function as intended, coordinating adjustments with country office management while maintaining updated records.
Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Security unit and other stakeholders on emergency preparedness plans such as evacuation.
Be responsible for managing and tracking the emergency team rotation in and out of Gaza, including effective management and follow-up on Rest and Recuperation Leaves (R&R).
Coordinate with the Palestine hub admin unit to support the Gaza team office admin-related work.
Generic professional competencies:
Minimum 3 years' experience working as an HR Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Knowledge of the context in Palestine
Fluency in Arabic, both written and verbal
Qualification requirement: Bachelor’s degree or higher

This position is Grade (07) Step (01). Salary & Benefits are based on Amman Duty Station.
Reports to: Area Manager.

Contract Duration: 6 months renewable, based on the need of position, funding and performance.
