Job Description
Result of Service
The consultant’s work will enhance the digital presence and communication effectiveness, including continuous growth of followers and engagement, of UN 2.0 and other related initiatives in the Office of the Secretary-General. By the end of the six-month assignment, the consultant's work will have strengthened the organization's ability to reach and engage diverse audiences, increased awareness and visibility of key initiatives and improved the strategic use of digital tools for sustained impact.

Duties and Responsibilities
Engagement, Digital Campaigns and Social Media • Develop and implement innovative digital communication strategies tailored to diverse audiences, leveraging platforms such as LinkedIn, electronic newsletters, pitch decks, document templates and websites to maximize reach and engagement. • Create, curate and manage content calendars for social media campaigns, ensuring consistency in tone, voice and branding across platforms. • Lead the development of digital assets, including websites, to enhance user experience and ensure the seamless delivery of key messages. • Monitor engagement metrics and assess the effectiveness of digital communication campaigns and adjust accordingly. Creative Design and Asset Management • Adapt and edit visual assets into platform-specific formats, including digital posters, infographics and short-form videos, ensuring high-quality outputs that resonate with target audiences. • Produce engaging multimedia content, such as video reels and animations, to enhance storytelling and communication impact. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure visual and written assets are aligned with organizational branding and messaging guidelines. Event Planning and Execution • Conceptualize, design and execute impactful in-person or virtual events, exhibitions and activations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and messaging priorities. • Liaise with external vendors, including event planners, designers, printers and other contractors, to ensure the successful delivery of events and exhibitions. • Oversee all aspects of event management, including logistics, budgeting, timeline development, and post-event evaluations. Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring alignment across teams for communication initiatives. • Provide communications support and if necessary, workshops and training to colleagues, enhancing their ability to leverage digital platforms effectively.
Qualifications/special skills
At least a first-level university degree in communications, digital marketing, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in digital communications and stakeholder engagement within the private sector is required. Experience in content creation and social media management is required, including work with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools is required. Experience in web content management and digital analytics is required, incl. work with WebFlow, WordPress, Drupal, or similar tools is required Written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience in producing slide deck, newsletter, and video production are desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
