Senior Social Media Officer Consultant
Overview
CIFOR-ICRAF is seeking a dynamic and creative Senior Social Media Officer (consultancy) to join its Communications, Outreach, and Engagement (COE) team in Bogor, Indonesia. The Senior Social Media Officer will work under the supervision of the Global Social Media Coordinator and play a vital role in enhancing CIFOR-ICRAF’s online presence, engaging with key audiences, and supporting the organization’s strategic communication goals.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Content Creation and Curation:
- Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content tailored for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others. This would cover Bahasa language, but also in English and support to other languages as required.
- Guide the production of shareable digital content such as graphics, videos, infographics, and animations.
2. Community Engagement:
- Monitor social media channels daily, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
3. Campaign Planning and Execution:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align social media efforts with broader campaigns and initiatives.
- Support paid marketing activities by assisting in the planning, execution, and tracking of sponsored posts and advertisements.
4. Analytics and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze social media analytics and performance metrics.
- Provide regular reports and insights to the Global Social Media Coordinator to inform data-driven strategies and content optimization.
5. Creative Strategy and Innovation:
- Stay up-to-date with emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices.
- Propose and implement creative approaches to enhance audience engagement, such as hashtag campaigns, contests, and interactive posts.
6. Visual and Multimedia Support:
- Provide photo and video support, including basic editing and ensuring high-quality visuals for social media channels.
- Work with the design team to create visually compelling assets that align with brand guidelines and ensure consistency across platforms.
7. Strategic Alignment:
- Support the development, implementation, and management of CIFOR-ICRAF’s social media strategy in collaboration with the Global Social Media Coordinator.
8. Additional Tasks:
- Assist in other tasks related to science writing, event coverage, and live social media reporting.
- Perform any other duties as required by the COE team.
Education, knowledge and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in social media management, preferably within a nonprofit, research, or environmental organization.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools.
• Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and basic video editing.
• Experience in paid social media campaigns is a plus.
