IFC is recruiting an Operations Analyst for its Egypt Country Management Unit (CMU) to work on several activities including support to the Country Management in developing strategic analysis and proposals, aggregation of sub-regional briefs and data as well as overall support to the requirements of the CMU to ensure that IFC fulfills its mandate. The position will be based in Cairo.

The candidate must be a self-starter, capable of taking initiative to cover a diverse range of tasks, able to thrive in a small, entrepreneurial team/environment and be able to work independently with different stakeholders under the supervision of the Country Officer and Head of the Office.

Role & Responsibilities 

• Support the preparation of IFC and WBG strategy documents, including Country Partnership Frameworks, Country Private Sector Diagnostics, sectoral notes, and other analytical products.
• Assist in preparing briefing material for conferences, forums, and senior management visits, and other events where IFC engages in thought leadership and stakeholder dialogue.
• Conduct analytical and content research related to Egypt’s private sector reform program, in coordination with the Country Management team, to inform IFC’s business development efforts. This includes liaising with investment, advisory, and upstream teams to gather relevant inputs.
• Support the monitoring and follow-up on the implementation of key sectoral and thematic strategies, tracking progress and identifying potential issues.
• Provide research and analysis support across country, sectors and clients, including data collection, synthesis, and preparation of reports and presentations.
• Conduct industry and market research to identify trends, opportunities and constraints to private sector investment and prepare communication materials as needed
• Assist in stakeholder engagement activities, including following up with key government counterparts, private sector representatives, and development partners on IFC’s work program.
• Other duties related to effective management of IFC’s program in Egypt

Selection Criteria

• Masters degree in economics, business, public policy, finance, or related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience in consulting, project management, or private sector development. 
• Good understanding of Egypt private sector landscape, including key business drivers, challenges and reform priorities. 
• Experience supporting or coordinating projects/programs involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in multicultural teams; comfortable engaging with counterparts from the private sector, government, and development partners.
• Proven ability to conduct research and analysis, synthesize findings, and prepare clear, concise reports and presentations.
• Experience working with international organizations and with governmental agencies is an advantage. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic (speaking and writing) is required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; with the ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines
