Overview of position

  • RRF supports local NGO's / CSO's to respond to emergencies, disasters & recovery needs across Mozambique.
  • Aims to strengthen localization by providing funding & capacity building.
  • Operates in a complex humanitarian context (conflict, displacement & climate shocks).

Role objectives

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the RRF grant cycle, from partner engagement to project closure.
  • Assist in planning, coordination & implementation of partner grants.
  • Ensure timely & quality support to local partners & internal teams.

Expected outputs include but are not limited to:

  • Support proposal development, kick offs & reporting.
  • Liaise with partners for coordination & documentation.
  • Conduct / support field visits & monitor implementation.
  • Assist in admin tasks, disbursements & consultant contracting.

Project reporting

  • Reports to the Grants Officer.
  • Regular updates on partner activities & project progress.
  • Contribute to reports, briefs & documentation.
  • Follows RRF reporting & monitoring schedules.

Key competencies

  • High school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in development studies or related field is desired.
  • Training in CCCM, project management or humanitarian coordination.
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in projects / grants support, humanitarian admin or coordination roles.
  • Experience in emergency or disaster response.
  • Experience working with affected communities in Mozambique preferably in central Mozambique.
  • Must be fluent in Portuguese (Fluent), with working knowledge of locally spoken languages & English.
  • Experience in admin & project support in humanitarian settings.
  • Strong coordination, communication & organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of CCCM or similar sectors.

Team management

  • This role has no team management responsibilities however this role requires a lot of coordination with our clients internal units & external partners.

Further information

  • Beira is a strategic location for RRF expansion into central provinces (e.g., Sofala, Manica, Zambezia).
  • The staff member will help extend RRF partner engagement, training & oversight in the central region.
  • Travel to field locations in central & southern provinces will be frequent, the role requires strong autonomy & adaptability.
  • Will play a key role in ensuring operational presence & responsiveness outside of Cabo Delgado.
  • Closer proximity to Maputo allows for facilitated coordination with government & clusters based in the capital.
