Background
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the leading United Nations organization fighting to end the injustice of poverty, inequality, and climate change. Working with our broad network of experts and partners in 170 countries, we help nations to build integrated, lasting solutions for people and planet.
The UNDP Angola Country Office is implementing its Country Programme Document (CPD) 2024–2028 in support of the Government of Angola’s National Development Plan (PDN 2023–2027) and Agenda 2030. The programme supports national efforts toward inclusive economic diversification, improved governance, and environmental sustainability, with gender, digital transformation, and youth empowerment as cross- cutting enablers.
The country office is structured in two main areas that enable the delivery of the CPD, namely Programme, which is responsible for the programmatic and strategic aspects, as well as projects management, and Operations that is responsible for the operational aspects, including Finance, Procurement and Administrative services. The Country Office is led by the Resident Representative (RR) with support of the Deputy Resident Representative (DRR).
Under the overall guidance of the Resident Representative and direct supervision of the Administrative Associate and Resident Representative, the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to the UNDP RR and other UN officials and high-ranking visitors ensuring highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. The Driver also demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Upon request of the supervisor, the Driver may also be required to provide driving services to the operations and programme staff in the CO, consultants and experts and UN staff on mission.
UNDP adopts a portfolio approach to accommodate changing business needs and leverage linkages across interventions to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, UNDP personnel are expected to work across units, functions, teams, and projects in multidisciplinary teams in order to enhance and enable horizontal collaboration.
