Mission and objectives

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the directing and coordinating authority for public health within the United Nations system. The WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean is one of WHO’s 6 regional offices around the world. It serves the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region, which comprises 21 Member States and occupied Palestinian territory (including East Jerusalem), with a population of nearly 679 million people.

Context

Design Visual Communication Materials for World AMR Awareness Week 2025 World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week (WAAW) is an annual global campaign promoting awareness and action to combat antimicrobial resistance. WHO/EMRO is seeking a team of online volunteers to support the campaign by creating high-quality visual communication materials. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in an international public health initiative, build their portfolios, and collaborate with a global health communications team. Volunteer will gain: - Gain experience contributing to a global public health campaign. - Develop digital and print design skills for international communication materials. - Build a professional portfolio with a wide range of visual content. - Collaborate remotely with WHO/EMRO communications staff and a diverse volunteer team.

Task Description

Selected Volunteers will support the WHO Communication Officer with designing the following in English and adapt them into Arabic and French. - 4 campaign posters for digital and print platforms. - 10 social media graphics, including static and animated visuals. - 5 infographics highlighting key campaign messages. - A4 Layout design for the Regional Director’s message/Carousel for Social media - 1 presentation PowerPoint - 5 announcement/invitation card designs. - 2 A4 two-four pagers All final deliverables must be visually consistent, culturally appropriate, aligned with WHO branding guidelines, and submitted as editable source files (Canva, or similar) Tasks will be divided among volunteers to ensure manageable workloads and timely completion.
