The incumbent will be responsible to deliver the following: 1- Delivery of high-quality photos and videos. 2- Production of creative videos and visuals.

Duties and Responsibilities
Background: The ESCWA Communication Unit produces yealy a large number of videos starting from the creation of the design, the animation, the selection of photos and rushes, to the editing and post-production. The Unit also provides photos and videos services to all ESCWA Clusters and other sister agencies. Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Secretary of the Commission and Chief of External Relations and Outreach at ESCWA, the videographer/photographer required to perform the below functions: Under the direct supervision of the Chief of External Relations and Outreach at ESCWA, the Communications Assistant required to perform the below functions in close coordination with the ESCWA Communication Unit (CU): - Edit video footages of conferences and events and prepare wrap-up videos; - Develop visual workflows, storyboards and concepts to create engaging content; - Conceptualize, prepare and shoot video/photo; - Assist in conducting interviews or short video messages with senior officials of ESCWA or experts; - Set up lighting for shoots; - Assist in producing motion graphics and animations; - Post-production of full videos including design and animation (motion graphics) including custom transitions; - Participate in design and production of multimedia campaigns (handle budgeting and scheduling); - Assist with production coordination, background design and progress tracking); - Support the production of multimedia content; - Take photos and provide edits (color correction, etc.) in digital files; - Work with the Public Information Assistants on other photography-related work; - Provide crash courses in photography to staff traveling on missions; - Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications/special skills
A Bachelor degree in media, art communication, photography, cinema, or audio-visual sciences is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in photography, media, is required. Experience in an international setting is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in Arabic and English is required, knowledge of French is desirable. Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.

Recruitment for this position is on a local basis. The incumbent is required to have the legal right to live and work in the specified working location.
