Schülerpraktikum 2024 WORK EXPERIENCE (PRACTICUM) FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Are you a secondary school student looking for an exciting two-week work experience at a scientific organisation? If you are from one of our 30 member states and aged between 14 and 18, then EUMETSAT is inviting you to embark on a stimulating two-week learning adventure at our headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Throughout the year, we open our doors to eager learners, subject to tutor availability and your school's schedule.

EUMETSAT does not provide formal vocational training, rather our aim is to inspire and motivate you to pursue higher education in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields or consider a future working for an intergovernmental organisation.

If you have a passion for space and satellites, we would love to hear from you. Just submit a brief CV along with a cover letter, both in English, and your latest school report. In your cover letter, tell us which areas fascinate you the most and how a practicum at EUMETSAT fits in with your academic and career goals. This information will help us match you with the most suitable mentor should your application be successful.

  • As part of your experience, you'll take on routine tasks and work on small projects.
  • You will have an exclusive opportunity to visit our satellite control centre and find out how we operate a fleet of weather satellites.
  • There are also plenty of other great activities at EUMETSAT that will give you a taste of what it’s like to work in an international space organisation.
