About British Red Cross

The British Red Cross has been helping millions of people in the UK and around the world get the support they need when crisis strikes.

We provide international aid to help people in emergencies, support refugees and survivors of trafficking, and those facing chronic hunger.

Often within hours of an emergency - or even before it's happened - our partners in the local Red Cross or Red Crescent National Society are on the ground keeping people safe.

We work as part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, with millions of volunteers across 191 countries working to prevent or ease human suffering.

We specialise in getting the right aid to the right place as quickly as possible, follow international humanitarian law, and help to build strong communities who can withstand and recover from disasters.
