Security and Safety - Others (Current Employee) in Kenya - 4 months ago
Some of us hail from countries that practice corruption, nepotism and other social vices that hinder personal ambitions on career progressing to a higher magnitude. Some of the UNDSS adverts on jobs demand having risen to certain level of ranks for the uniformed forces for one to qualify to apply. For instance, some tribes are very much marginalised since attaining independence to date of which career progression and rising on ranks has been an issue. Promotions are done on tribal/nepotism lines and level of education too hinders because of marginalization. We also have poor electricity and internet provision that contribute to poor preparation for online UNDSS exams during recruitment process if by chance one is shortlisted. Well placed tribes have advantage over the marginalised because they are well developed leading to appropriate sensitization during such undertakings. In the long run UNDSS will provide a "swamping effect" that there are many of a certain country citizens employed by United Nations and yet the marginalized tribes have been left out by both UN and respective National Governments. If blessed to be employed by UN, none of the marginalized member will manage the professional category because of the hardship to attain the prerequisite level of education. If personal efforts are injected, the age factor creeps in and perhaps becomes eliminating factor during recruitment process. However, after going through genres, journals, websites informations, Newspapers, TVs and other social sites, United Nations Goals, Missions and general undertakings have been a noble one blessed by Almighty God. Thank you for wise leadership of Secretary General and his predecessors for making UN attain such a noble atmosphere. Not forgetting UNDSS Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security for high technical way of handling UNDSS issues especially on policies.
