Task Description
We are looking for one (1) Online Volunteer who, under the supervision of the HSS Team Lead and in close collaboration with the Communications Officer, will provide graphic design and document layout support to facilitate the publication of the PECS. The Online Volunteer will be responsible for: • Designing and laying out the PECS and related materials using professional desktop publishing software. • Developing a consistent visual identity across all PECS materials, ensuring coherence in typography, colour palettes, page structure, icons, illustrations, and other graphic elements. • Formatting tables, charts, diagrams, figures, and infographics to enhance readability and facilitate understanding of technical content. • Ensuring compliance with WHO branding and visual identity guidelines throughout all materials.* • Preparing print-ready files that meet professional printing specifications and conducting quality checks prior to production. • Revising layouts based on technical feedback from WHO and the Ministry of Health until final approval. • Organizing and submitting all editable source files and final production files to facilitate future updates and reprints. • Providing graphic design support for additional PECS-related communication and knowledge products, as required. *WHO branding and visual identity guidelines will be shared with the Online Volunteer at the start of the assignment. What You Need Proven experience in graphic design and visual communication, preferably for brochures, job aids and reports Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, or equivalent Strong attention to detail and ability to work within brand guidelines Written proficiency in English and Portuguese Prior experience designing materials for UN agencies, NGOs, or development organizations is an advantage Availability of approximately 10–16 hours per week and 1-hour weekly coordination meeting What You Will Gain The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the HSS and Communications teams at WHO and learn about the ways in which graphic design can increase the visibility of successful interventions.
