Mission and objectives

Mission The mission of this assignment is to support the production, quality control, organization, and publication of educational video content created by Youth Development Correspondents across Africa. The volunteer will help transform research and knowledge generated by correspondents into accessible, engaging, and professionally presented video content that informs young people about youth development policies, institutions, programs, opportunities, and initiatives throughout Africa. Objectives 1. Support the video production workflow for Youth Development Correspondents. 2. Develop and maintain video submission, review, and publishing procedures. 3. Review video content for quality, clarity, presentation, and compliance with publishing standards. 4. Support contributors in improving video structure, storytelling, and audience engagement. 5. Coordinate the publication of approved content on the Voices of the Emerging Africa platform. 6. Help organize video content into country, regional, and thematic categories. 7. Support the development of video production guidelines and templates. 8. Promote consistency in branding, presentation, and quality standards. 9. Contribute to the growth of a continent-wide educational video library. 10. Help increase public awareness of youth development opportunities and policies across Africa.

Context

The 21st Century African Youth Movement (AYM) is building a continent-wide network of Youth Development Correspondents who research and present information on youth development policies, institutions, opportunities, and programs throughout Africa. A central component of this initiative is the production of educational video content to be shared through the African Lecture Series and the Voices of the Emerging Africa platform. These videos are intended to increase awareness, improve access to information, and support informed youth participation in economic and social development. As the number of contributors grows, effective coordination of video production and publishing activities becomes essential. This assignment supports the development of systems and processes that ensure video content is reviewed, organized, published, and made accessible to audiences across Africa. The volunteer's contribution will help create a sustainable knowledge-sharing platform that supports youth employment, entrepreneurship, education, leadership development, and civic engagement, while highlighting opportunities available to young people across African countries. Task Description

The 21st Century African Youth Movement (AYM) seeks volunteers to coordinate video production and publishing activities for the African Lecture Series and Voices of the Emerging Africa platform. Youth Development Correspondents from across Africa will produce educational videos on youth policies, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, education, agriculture, technology, governance, and related development topics. The Video Production and Publishing Coordinator will help manage the workflow needed to transform these submissions into a structured, accessible knowledge resource. Responsibilities include: * Coordinating video submission and review processes. * Reviewing videos for quality, clarity, and compliance with publishing standards. * Supporting contributors with video preparation guidance. * Maintaining video publishing schedules. * Organizing videos by country, region, and subject area. * Coordinating YouTube publication and playlist management. * Supporting video descriptions, titles, tags, and metadata development. * Monitoring publishing progress and maintaining production records. * Collaborating with content editors and correspondent coordinators. * Recommending improvements to video production processes.
