Head of Policy, Reward & Compliance

The Commonwealth Secretariat is seeking an exceptional Head of Policy, Reward and Compliance to provide strategic leadership across HR policy, reward and benefits, governance, compliance, safeguarding, audit and workforce risk. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and Facilities Management, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the Secretariat’s People Strategy and supporting organisational transformation across our London headquarters and international offices. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of a values-driven international organisation. You will lead the development of modern HR policies, oversee reward and benefits strategies, provide assurance on governance and compliance matters, and advise senior leaders on complex people-related issues. You will also champion safeguarding, risk management and workforce resilience, ensuring the Secretariat remains a fair, effective and trusted employer. We are looking for a strategic and credible HR professional with substantial experience in HR policy, reward, governance and compliance, ideally within a complex international or multi-jurisdictional environment. You will bring excellent judgement, strong analytical capability, and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
