Job Description
  1. Key responsibilities

Accountability and Complexity

  1. Manage the assigned workload independently and ensure that pharmaceutical monitoring, stock follow-up, documentation and reporting activities are completed accurately and on time.
  1. Work with a moderate degree of supervision and guidance, while remaining accountable for the quality and reliability of assigned pharmaceutical activities.
  1. Recognize and resolve routine technical and operational problems within the pharmacy function using established procedures, professional standards and approved guidelines.
  1. Evaluate and select appropriate solutions from standard and established options, escalating complex, unusual or high-risk issues to the Health Program Coordinator.

  1. Represent RI professionally when coordinating with supported PHCCs, communities and relevant partners.

Pharmaceutical Management, Quality Assurance and Medical Supply Oversight

  • Provide technical support for the best practices management of the pharmacy in terms of storage and tracking of drug waste.
  • Manage the administration of medication for the patients and track stock availability using tally sheets in order to prepare procurement orders.
  • Ensure that appropriate education and drug administration and dosing guidelines are available to guide medical, and nursing staff.
  • Evaluate the needs of Primary Health Care Center in terms of training, supply chain, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) standards within pharmacy settings, including safe medication handling practices.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and supervision visits to supported PHCCs to ensure compliance with national guidelines, donor requirements, and internal SOPs.
  • Coordinate with MoPH to align pharmacy practices with national strategies and ensure continuity of care.
  • Coordinate closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely procurement of medications and medical supplies in line with program needs.
  • Lead the medical procurement and Prepare and maintain all required documentation related to medical procurement processes and medical donations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational medical procurement policy and donor requirements.
  • The job holder should demonstrate a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness and objectivity when dealing with the beneficiaries under all circumstances;
  • The job holder must ensure data collection and reporting in an effective and efficient manner while emphasizing quality and accuracy at all times.

  • Maintain the country Medical Standard list and ensure that it remains updated as per organization, donor and country treatment guidelines and protocols.
  • Collect, analyze, provide feedback and submit monthly consumption data and report.
  • Ensure that the medical warehouses and Pharmacies are maintained as per Organization GSDP standards.
  • Provide training to the warehouse and health facility on good pharmaceutical practices.
  • Follow up on rational use of drugs, prescription audit, Pharmacovigilance, Antimicrobial resistance stewardship, management of cold chain and controlled drugs.
