Mission and objectives
As a specialized United Nations agency, UNESCO has been operating in Pakistan since 1958, providing the Government of Pakistan with support over seven decades. The Government of Pakistan recognizes UNESCO as a long-term strategic partner in support of achieving Pakistan’s national development plans and priorities. UNESCO’s support to Pakistan is built around the United Nations’ common support framework for Pakistan, the Pakistan One United Nations Programme III (OP III) 2018-2022, and its shared purpose ‘Delivering as One’ to achieve the SDGs in line with the Government’s priorities. UNESCO's mission is to contribute to the building of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development, and intercultural dialogue through education, the sciences, culture, communication and information.Context
Task Description
Under the guidance of the focal point, the Online Volunteer will: - Support the organization, formatting, and consolidation of programme documentation, including reports, meeting records, concept notes, and progress updates. - Assist in maintaining structured digital filing systems to improve accessibility and retrieval of programme information. - Support the updating of programme trackers and information management tools under staff guidance. - Contribute to the consolidation of programme information and data for reporting and knowledge-sharing purposes. - Contribute to the preparation of 1–2 knowledge and visibility products during the assignment, which may include programme briefs, newsletters, web stories, social media content, case studies, success stories, or other communication materials aligned with UNESCO's mandate. - The Online Volunteer may be asked to join occasional virtual meetings.Competencies and values
