The International Volunteer Year (IVY 2026) aims to strengthen recognition, visibility and enabling environments for volunteerism across countries and sectors. Through engagement with National Focal Points and partners, IVY 2026 supports initiatives that showcase the contribution of volunteers to sustainable development and encourage broader participation. This assignment supports communication and visibility efforts by developing visual materials that National Focal Points can adapt and use for outreach and engagement activities.Context
The United Nations has declared 2026 the International Volunteer Year (IVY 2026) to recognize volunteerism as a key driver of sustainable development. Launching on International Volunteer Day—5 December 2025, IVY 2026 is a call to governments, organizations, and communities worldwide to champion volunteerism in all its forms—formal and informal, local and global—while fostering inclusive policies and ensuring volunteer contributions are recognized and measured. As part of IVY 2026 implementation, National Focal Points are developing campaigns, events, webinars, social media activities and communication products. To support consistent and accessible visibility across countries, there is a need for volunteer support to create visual templates and communication materials that can be reused and localized.Task Description
The Online Volunteers will support with: - Design 3-5 visual products for National Focal Point activities under IVY 2026 which may include visual assets aligned with UNV and IVY 2026 branding guidance, or editable templates for social media posts, presentations, event banners and information materials. - Support adaptation of visuals for different formats and platforms. - Ensure materials are visually clear, accessible and suitable for international audiences. - Collaborate with the IVY coordination team to incorporate feedback and finalize products. - Organize design files and maintain a simple asset library for reuse. All branding and communication guidelines will be provided. Volunteers may be asked to join an orientation call.Competencies and values
