Mission and objectives
UNDP’s country programme in Morocco (2023-2027) is fully aligned with the New Development Model, the Government Programme, the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, the UNDP strategic plan 2022-2025, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and emphasizes a human-rights-based approach, gender equity and the principle of leaving no one behind. It builds on previous development results and utilizes UNDP country, regional and global institutional capacities, including South-South and triangular cooperation. UNDP in Morocco works in close partnership with the Government and the international community to facilitate the New Development Model’s objectives of structural transformation to a more inclusive, empowered, sustainable and resilient economy and society contributing to broader African prosperity.Context
Task Description
Under the overall guidance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative (RR ) and under the direct supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative (DRR ) for Programme and Operations, the international UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: Support the Country Office (CO ) Directorate (RR/DRR) with analysis of key development data and development policy analysis as a background for strategic partnership-building and resource mobilization: • Support the Resident Representative and Deputy Resident Representative in development engagement activities with existing and potential partners • Contribute to the CO annual report, policy analyses, partnership reports, briefing notes, and presentations for senior management • Support senior management’s participation in high-visibility activities showcasing successful partnerships and their development impact • Contribute to thematic reflections and partnership meetings on Financing, Gender, Youth and Employment • Gather information and data from publicly available sources, conduct policy research including on development cooperation, and prepare literature reviews on sustainable development, inclusive green growth, financing for development, and related topics, examining key trends through the lenses of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), international development cooperation, and South-South cooperation • Conduct analysis and processes related to the UNDP Due Diligence policy on the private sector • Contribute to analytical products, visualization, and communication; prepare short notes, policy briefs, background research, and concept notes, synthesizing findings into actionable insights • Develop charts, dashboards, and presentations to effectively communicate analytical results to internal and external audiences Actively contribute to the CO Partnership Task Force and relevant thematic working groups at the inter-agency level: • Map and keep track of existing and potential strategic partnerships with government institutions, private sector entities, civil society organizations, academia, and international partners • Support the drafting of funding proposals, partnership agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and collaboration frameworks with diverse stakeholders • Organize partnership forums, networking events, and multi-stakeholder dialogues • Propose innovative partnership models and frameworks that align with UNDP's mandate and Morocco's development priorities • Participate in the Global Partnership Platform (GPP ) thematic groups as needed Policy analysis, knowledge generation, and management: • Contribute to relevant CO knowledge products, documenting lessons learned, case studies, and promising practices • Follow up on global and regional launches of knowledge products (KPs ) to contribute to analysis and knowledge exchange • Maintain comprehensive partnership and knowledge management (KM ) databases and tracking systems • Identify emerging partnership trends and innovative collaboration mechanismsCompetencies and values

The UNV will live in the city of Rabat that counts with suitable utilities, housing, transportation, banks, malls, etc. Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, has an estimated population of 516 000 inhabitants. It is a coastal town in western Morocco. The climate of the city is subject to four well-marked seasons and the humidity of the ocean air is clearly felt. Winters are cool and rainy, with night-time minima falling below 5 °C and days around 17 °C. Summers are hot and temperatures sometimes exceed 35 °C. Rabat has a small international airport but a wide network of ground transportation to all locations within the country. Rabat is at 90 Km from Casablanca, the largest city of Morocco and which houses the biggest airport in Morocco. Rabat offers access to qualified medical and dentistry services. Morocco is characterized by geographical diversity, which includes Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, Mountain of the Atlas, wetlands, the desert and forests. Morocco also has a rich cultural diversity. The city does not present serious problems in terms of public safety. The general safety conditions are guaranteed by the rules established by United Nations.
