Mission and objectives
UNFPA’s mission in the Solomon Islands is to improve the quality of life of people—especially women, adolescents, and youth—by ensuring that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person can reach their full potential. It works closely with the government and partners to promote universal access to sexual and reproductive health services, reduce preventable maternal deaths, and eliminate gender-based violence and harmful practices. [unfpa.org] Its main objectives include strengthening reproductive health services (such as family planning and maternal care), empowering young people through education and access to information, preventing and responding to gender-based violence, and supporting the use of population data for effective national planning and policy development. UNFPA also aims to integrate population dynamics with sustainable development, helping Solomon Islands improve livelihoods and achieve long-term development goalsContext
